Sports sector of NE India is developing in recent times and presenting exciting career opportunity for youngsters aspiring to excel as professionals associated with sports and allied services. The youth of North East are heavily inclined towards sporting activities like Football, Badminton, Tennis, Weight lifting, Boxing, Archery etc. However, there is a huge lack of any grassroot academy, which rules out any chances or linkages for young players to move in a professional clubs for further development. In order to broaden the aspect of games and sports in remote areas of the NE states, and tap the hidden talent which is available in abundance, NEIDA promotes sports as a means for catalysing for development. It can help with raising aspirations, improving health, strengthening education and development of children. In order to achieve this, NEIDA nurtures talents at the grassroot level by creating an ecosystem that can assist in their development. NEIDA also engages with professionals with significant experience in sport to offer quality learning opportunities for the children and youths.
